Vision and Values:

Over the past few years, I have become increasingly concerned with the direction of our county. It pains me to see the erosion of the unique identity that once made Oakland County exceptional. I will represent the people of this District who expect their government officials to provide value for our tax dollars, safety to our communities and uphold market driven development in our neighborhoods.

I am not a career politician but a dedicated citizen with a clear mission: to serve the residents of Oakland County. I believe in collaborative leadership, valuing the ideas and concerns of my constituents. My vision for the county includes ensuring responsible fiscal management, advocating for inclusive governance, and implementing innovative solutions to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.

Professional Background:

I am an accomplished professional with a rich background in both technical and financial disciplines. Having a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and an MBA in Finance has given me a unique blend of skills to tackle complex issues. My career has been rooted in the automotive industry, where I have excelled as an International Sales and New Business Development Executive. My roles have involved building strong business relationships, forming strategic partnerships, and driving economic growth on a global scale.

Personal Background:

Originally from Detroit, I dreamed of living in Oakland County—a dream I have proudly realized through hard work and determination. My personal journey and professional achievements are a testament to my resilience and dedication. My deep-rooted connection to the community fuels my passion for public service and my commitment to making a positive impact.

Key Issues and Goals:

Fiscal Responsibility: The facts speak for themselves. Under the current leadership, Oakland County’s spending has swelled from $758 million in 2019 to $1.09 billion in 2023—a staggering 43% increase. Property taxes have climbed nearly 48% in the same period. These numbers are more than statistics; they represent the financial strain every household in our county feels. I am committed to addressing these challenges head-on. We cannot afford another four years of unchecked spending and rising taxes. It is time for change, and I am prepared to lead that change with your support.

Public Safety: Crime rates have risen steadily in our District since 2020. Crime rates in the City of Birmingham increased 37%, Royal Oak 27%, and Troy 26% during the period from 2020 – 2022. Safe communities are the foundation for prosperity and well-being. I will prioritize the Sheriff’s Office by advocating for the necessary funding to ensure they have the equipment and resources needed to protect the citizens of our County.

Economic Growth: Leveraging my business experience, I plan to drive economic development by supporting local businesses and attracting new opportunities to the county.

Community Engagement: My management style is collaborative, and I am dedicated to involving residents in decision-making processes to ensure that the county’s policies reflect the community’s needs and aspirations.

Electing Regina Wilk as your County Commissioner means choosing a leader who not only has technical and financial expertise but also an international perspective and proven experience in driving economic development. Together, we can build a resilient, innovative, and prosperous county that meets the needs of today and positions Oakland County for a successful future.
